Why Buy the Hyundai IONIQ 5?

The IONIQ 5 is a world-acclaimed vehicle with a unique design, technology, and driving experience. The EV combines the power of faster charging, longer driving ranges, and extra interior space, unlike other competitors in the EV class. The car is fully electric, and with gas prices increasing rapidly, there’s no better way to say bye to high gas prices than to drive the IONIQ 5. Additionally, all Hyundai IONIQ 5 trims deliver a favorable driving range, with the Limited trim having the longest range at 303 miles on a single charge, perfect for trips around Crestview, Florida, and beyond.

Features of the Hyundai IONIQ 5

Below are just some of the exciting features of the Hyundai IONIQ 5:

Trim Levels

Hyundai developed the IONIQ 5 electric crossover in four trim levels: the SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, and Limited. Besides the standard features, the base trim rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and has a superfast charging system. The SEL trim has highway driver-assistance capability and H-Tex seating surfaces. The super-luxurious Limited trim has all the standard features, a vision sunroof, and a head-up display with augmented reality.

Price

There’s no clear communication about the price of the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5. However, the 2023 model year has varying prices across the three trims. The base SE Standard Range trim has an MSRP of $45,000, while the SE starts at $47,450. The high-end Limited trim is available at a starting MSRP of $52,600.

Performance

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 has a fully electric powertrain with multiple capabilities. The standard powertrain for the all-wheel-drive version is a 58 kWh battery pack and rear-mounted dual electric motors. The all-wheel-drive variants are more powerful, yielding up to 320 horsepower and 446 lb-feet of torque. The power output can propel the car from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds.

Safety Features

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 has many driver-assistance systems for safety and protection in case of an accident. Notably, it’s the first car on Hyundai’s product lines to feature a Level 2 autonomous safety suite, through which the vehicle can safely change lanes without the driver’s intervention. Moreover, the lane-keeping assistance feature uses a high-definition front camera to track highway lanes. If the system detects an unintended lane departure, it applies counter-steering torque to return the vehicle to the track.

A surround-view monitor provides a 360-degree view of the car. The camera helps you maneuver tight spaces and avoid hitting obstacles when parking the car. In addition, the electric crossover has rear ultrasonic sensors that help reverse out of an area with poor visibility. The sensors can trigger a warning and apply brakes automatically to avoid rear collision.

The car has seven air bags at critical points to minimize collision injuries. For example, a safety air bag is directly in front of the driver’s seat at the center console. It prevents head injuries to the driver due to collision.

Forward collision avoidance and blind-spot monitoring help you avoid an imminent collision at high or slow speeds. The system uses radar sensors at the rear bumper to alert you of oncoming traffic in a blind spot. The system also sounds an alarm and applies the brake if a collision is imminent.

Exterior Design

The IONIQ 5’s exterior layout features a sophisticated appearance, unique sharp lines, and LED lights on the front and rear bumpers. The rear and front headlamps have 256 parametric pixels for better night illumination.

The side layout has a sporty silhouette with a steep sloping pillar. The short hood and streamlined rooflines complement the car’s side layout and design. Other notable exterior features include a solar roof, flush door handles, and air intake scoops on the front bumper.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in distinct, predominantly nature-inspired color options. You can choose from the Phantom Black, Cyber Gray, Ecotronic Gray, Atlas White, Digital Green, Lucid Blue, Shooting Star Gray, and Gravity Gold Matte.

Interior Design

Hyundai adopted the Electric Global Modular Platform to customize and maximize interior space. Thus, the IONIQ 5 has a unique long base and an extremely flat floor compared to other electric crossovers.

The EV will have two reclining front seats for maximum comfort. Your passengers at the back will also have guaranteed comfort thanks to manually reclining seats, which can slide to about 5.31 inches. The center console is equally movable and can slide back by 5.51 inches for more space in the cabin.

The interior space incorporates a sleek magnetic dashboard, a 12.25-inch digital cluster, a 12.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a sliding glove box. An additional accessory is the vision roof on the ceiling, made up of a large glass panel. The roof offers an open view besides allowing natural light for daytime cabin illumination.

Hyundai IONIQ designers adopted eco-friendly materials for the cabin to ensure minimal environmental impact. As a result, the seats have eco-friendly leather treated with plant extracts. The door panels, dashboard, steering wheel, and switches also feature bio-degradable components, including wool, bio-oils, corn, and flower extracts.

Technology

The IONIQ 5 redefines technology by incorporating high-end standard features. The car boasts a multicharging system that supports 800V and 400V charging infrastructures. The superfast charging system allows in-car and out-car charging for convenience.

The car has intelligent paddle shifters for controlling regenerative braking and maximizing battery recharging. A column-type gear selector integrated with the steering wheel enables an effortless gear shift between the drive and reverse modes. Some other great tech features the IONIQ 5’s offers include:

  • A digital key.
  • Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility.
  • Wireless charging.
  • Dynamic voice recognition system.
