2022 Hyundai Sonata Trim Levels
The 2022 Sonata is a sleek sedan that offers great fuel economy and the tech and safety features that keep you safe and organized while driving. It’s a great choice for car buyers who don’t want to sacrifice function for form. Reviewing the various trim levels for the Sonata can help you determine which option is best for you. Here’s everything you need to know about the different options for the 2022 Hyundai Sonata.
2022 Sonata SE
The SE trim level for the Hyundai Sonata is an affordable option with fewer features than other trims. The SE Sonata gets an average of 28 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. It has a four-cylinder engine with the standard idle stop and go function. The standard colors for the Sonata are Hampton Gray, silver, black, blue, Portofino Gray, white, and red. The interior comes in black or gray.
The transmission is a standard eight-speed automatic, and the car offers some safety features, including lane following assist, high beam assist, and smart cruise control. Android and Apple CarPlay come standard in this trim, as well as a rearview monitor with parking guidance, an external temperature display, and optional heated side mirrors.
2022 Sonata SEL
When you opt for the convenience package in the Sonata SEL, you can add features like a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, access to Hyundai digital key, wireless device charging, auto-dimming mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a second-row air vent, LED interior lights, and a second-row charging port. The SEL has a slightly higher fuel tank capacity than the SE at 15.9 gallons and performs a little worse in fuel economy. The Sonata SEL offers 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
The SEL trim level comes with 17-inch alloy rims with 215/55 R17 tires and weighs a bit more than the SE trim at 3,266 pounds with the sunroof added. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and Safe Exit Warning (SEW) are all standard safety features in the SEL trim level. This trim also comes with heated side mirrors, side-mirror-mounted LED turn-signal indicators and a gloss black front grille. Acoustic film front door glass, sport front and rear bumper fascia, and a hands-free smart trunk release are also standard features for this Sonata.
2022 Sonata SEL Plus
All the features that come in the convenience package for the Sonata SEL are standard on the Sonata SEL Plus, including interior lights and Hyundai Digital Key. The Sonata SEL Plus boasts upgraded mechanics and power compared to the SEl, with a turbo four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine. Instead of 17-inch rims, the SEL Plus comes with 19-inch alloy rims with 245/40 R19 tires.
The SEL Plus offers standard highway driving assist safety features and black window trim. A panoramic sunroom comes standard for this trim and the seats feature Dinamica microfiber inserts for ultimate comfort. Its entertainment system also features an upgrade from the 8-inch touch screen to a 10.25-inch color touch screen with navigation and traffic flow. The SEL Plus also comes with multiple device connection, wireless device sharing, and dynamic voice recognition.
2022 Sonata N Line
The Sonata N Line comes with an upgraded 2.5-liter engine that offers 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. It also comes standard with a multi-port injection and an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters. The N Line also receives an upgrade visually, as it comes with glossy black side mirrors and glossy black window surrounds moldings.
Additional upgrades for the N Line include the unique front and rear fascia, a rear spoiler, and twin tip dual rear exhaust. Seats in the N Line are unique sport front seats with the Dinamica microfiber inserts, and the auto-dimming rearview mirror comes with HomeLink. The standard leather-wrapped steering wheel also receives an upgrade to the unique sports steering wheel version. The N Line offers an average of 13 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
2022 Sonata Limited
The Sonata Limited out-performs the N Line in fuel economy, as the Limited comes in at an average of 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. This is because the engine in the Limited is less sporty, with lower horsepower and torque capabilities. The Sonata Limited comes with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission instead of the wet dual-clutch you’ll find in the N Line. Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) and the Surround View Monitor are standard features for the Limited trim package.
Safety features in the Limited are a bit more robust, as this trim comes standard with Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-R) and Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) that can help you drive safely in your new Sonata. This trim comes with premium LED headlights, full LED taillights, and an Integrated Memory System for the driver’s seat and side mirrors. This is also the first trim for the Sonata that comes with six-way power front ventilated leather passenger seats.
2022 Sonata N Line Night
The Sonata N Line Night is a special version of the Sonata that only comes in black or white for the exterior and only offers black for the interior color. It averages a combined 27 mpg and has a 290-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. The carbon trunk spoiler and matte black alloy wheels with carbon fiber center caps give this car a unique and sleek profile. The matte black side mirrors and dark chrome emblems highlight the eye-catching features on this Sonata.
This is the heaviest trim for the Sonata, coming in at 3,552 pounds. Like the Sonata N Line, the N Line Night comes with glossy black window surround moldings and black window trim. Other features that accentuate the dark theme for this trim are the carbon fiber trunk lip spoiler, red painted brake calipers, dark chrome front badging, dark chrome rear badging, and matte black mirror cover. The N Line Night also comes with sports seats and a sports leather steering wheel.
