With its strong performance, composed handling, comfortable cabin, and excellent feature content, this well-rounded crossover is a great option for drivers from all walks of life. Additionally, it comes in five trim levels to cater to your specific needs and preferences. Check out this detailed 2022 Hyundai Tucson trim comparison to make an informed buying decision.

SE

With a base manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $25,500, the SE is the entry-level model of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Despite its attractive pricing, this trim offers a more generous list of standard features than many other compact SUVs, giving you exceptional value for your money.

Similar to all the other trims, the SE is equipped with a lively 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. This engine works with a slick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission to power the front wheels. It gets the SUV up to speed quickly and provides more than adequate power for everyday driving. It’s also capable of handling more demanding tasks such as uphill driving and light towing. For better traction, you can opt for the available all-wheel drive, which costs an additional $1,500. This trim rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

While it isn’t as well-appointed as the higher trims, the SE is well above its price point in terms of interior quality. Its cabin features excellent fit and finish, a good amount of soft touch-materials, and well-cushioned seats. The crossover offers expansive legroom in both rows of seats, enough for most adults to stretch out. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats, and remote keyless entry.

Also, if you frequently go on road trips or outdoor adventures, you’ll be happy to know that the Tucson has one of the largest cargo capacities in its segment. It gives you 38.7 cubic feet of space behind the back seats and 74.8 cubic feet with those seats folded down. Even in the SE, this Hyundai model has a dual-level cargo floor that provides flexible storage.

Few entry-level compact SUVs have a more extensive roster of standard infotainment features than the Tucson SE. This model boasts a user-friendly, responsive infotainment system that comes with an 8-inch touch-screen display, a six-speaker sound system, two USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and HD radio.

Furthermore, the SE is fitted with a large selection of driver-assistance features to improve your safety on the road. These features help you become more aware of your surroundings while driving so that you can promptly detect any hazards and avoid them. They include forward-collision alert, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian monitoring, automatic high-beam headlamps, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure alert, a rearview camera, driver-drowsiness monitoring, and rear-seat alert.

SEL

With a starting price tag of $26,800, the SEL is only slightly more expensive than the SE. However, it adds plenty of standard features, making it a great value proposition as well. It comes with a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, two extra USB ports, satellite radio, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic warning, and safe-exit assistance.

If you go for the SEL, you’ll also have access to two optional packages: Convenience and Premium. The Convenience package comprises dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless device charging, a digital key app, a hands-free power lift-gate, a sunroof, and 19-inch wheels. The Premium package, on the other hand, includes ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.

N Line

The N Line is the sporty-looking version of the Hyundai Tucson. It distinguishes itself from the rest of the lineup with unique styling tweaks to the grille, headlamp bezels, front and rear bumpers, wheels, rear spoiler, and front seats. In addition, it has all of the SEL’s features, plus the Convenience package and Bose audio system. If you choose this model, be prepared to spend $30,900 or more.

XRT

For the 2022 model year, one of the most notable changes to the Hyundai Tucson is the addition of the new XRT trim. The XRT looks tougher and more rugged than the other Tucson models, thanks to its off-road-oriented design. On the outside, it has black plastic trim on the front and rear bumpers, gloss black side mirrors, dark-colored window trim, and chunkier cladding around the wheel arches and on the side sills. It also comes with exclusive black 19-inch wheels, approach lighting, roof cross rails, side steps, and a tow hitch.

The cabin of the XRT echoes the exterior modifications with a black headliner and black cloth seats. In terms of features, this trim is based on an SEL with the Convenience package. The base price of the XRT is $31,550.

Limited

Starting at $35,000, the Limited is the top-of-the-line trim level of the Hyundai Tucson. It looks and feels more upscale than the other trims and offers plenty of additional features. Other than the features found in the SEL and Convenience and Premium packages, this model also comes standard with a power front-passenger seat, heated back seats, a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a panoramic sunroof.

Additionally, the Limited has a long list of infotainment and safety upgrades to deliver class-leading technology, including a 10.25-inch touch screen display, navigation, blind-spot cameras, rear collision alert, front and rear parking sensors, remote-controlled parking, a 360-degree parking camera system, and a semi-autonomous driving mode.
