Pensacola Florida Shopping Guide

June 7th, 2023 by

Pensacola, Florida, is a wonderful Emerald Coast city with a lot of great shopping. Enjoy Florida’s warm weather as you stroll Pensacola’s streets and browse the many local stores. Here you can find high-end fashion, beach-ready looks, handmade jewelry, antiques, art by local artists, and much more. You may be planning to shop for a specific item, or you might simply want to walk around and see what’s for sale. Either way, Pensacola is a great destination for a shopping day trip from Mobile, Daphne, or all along the Pensacola coast.

Downtown Pensacola

Downtown Pensacola features lots of local businesses and historical buildings. At the heart of Downtown Pensacola, you’ll find Palafox Street (which turns into Palafox Place), hosting buildings with wrought iron details and lined crepe myrtle trees. This gorgeous street is home to local shops, including clothing stores, furniture galleries, restaurants, and delicious dessert spots. In 2013 the American Planning Association named Palafox Street on the list of “10 Great Streets in America,” so this destination is a must for any Pensacola shopping trip.

Palafox Street is only one part of Downtown Pensacola’s charm. While wandering the waterfront downtown area, take a trip down Zaragoza Street and Main Street for more great shopping. Spend your evening with dinner and a show by planning a night at the Vinyl Music Hall. Be sure to stop by Downtown Pensacola on Saturday morning to shop at the year-round farmers market and art show.

Pensacola Beach

Quietwater Beach Boardwalk  at Pensacola Beach is an iconic part of the Emerald Coast and a great place for some frivolous spending. Here you’ll find casual, beachy clothes that are perfect if you’re visiting from out of town or spending a few days at a resort for vacation. Remember to buy a few souvenirs for the folks you left at home, too. Pensacola Beach features some cute tourist shops where you can purchase quintessentially Florida items.

Even if you don’t buy anything, you won’t want to skip a trip to the boardwalk. It overlooks the Santa Rosa Sound and the serene white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast. Perhaps you’d rather shop for experiences than clothes and souvenirs. If that’s the case, consider getting on a dolphin cruise, grabbing photos at The Shell, or catching a show at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk Amphitheatre.

Antique Shops

For lovers of all things vintage, Pensacola is a great antiquing destination. The city’s shops and antique malls are likely to have treasures you didn’t know you were looking for. Start your journey at Blue Moon Antique Mall. The retail space is over 10,000 square feet full of antique vendors selling almost anything you can imagine. People typically spend several hours here browsing the vendors or searching out specific items. As a bonus, you’ll find about a dozen other antique shops located in the area around Blue Moon, so you can spend the day perusing.

You’ll also want to check out Oooodles Antiques (yes, that is the correct spelling) before you leave Pensacola. This is another large antique shop that’s known for being well-organized and clean. Oooodles focuses on quality items, so visit with confidence that you’ll be browsing through treasures, not sifting through junk.

Boutiques and Specialty Stores

Pensacola has lots of great boutiques to visit. Many of them are on or near Palafox Street in the downtown area, but you can find plenty of others scattered throughout the city. Shopping the boutiques is the way to go if you’re looking for something specific, such as specialty jams or thrifted clothing. Here are a few of the most unique options to give you an idea of how much cool stuff you can find in Pensacola:

  • Ciao Bella Boutique and Salon: This women’s fashion boutique, located in East Pensacola Heights, offers trendy, comfortable clothing.
  • Rococo Resale: This is an uptown Pensacola consignment store where you can find pre-loved, high-end apparel and accessories.
  • Old Thyme Remedies: This holistic wellness store sells over 200 loose herbs, teas, spices, and powders and also stocks kitchen accessories, such as tea-making equipment.
  • Remember When Sweet Shop: This chocolatier, located in the Westerly Heights area, sells sweets, such as homemade fudge, a variety of homemade jams (including jalapeno flavor), and a bunch of novelty candy.

Bespoke Art

Art galleries, specialty jewelry, and distinctive home decor populate some of Pensacola’s most popular shopping spots. These galleries feature the work of local artists and are great places to look if you want to support local talent and sport one-of-a-kind items in your home. You can find most of the galleries in Downtown Pensacola, so you can hit them up at the same time you’re visiting Palafox Street. Here are a few recommendations:

  • Blue Morning Gallery: You’ll find an eclectic and fun variety of items, such as pottery, glassware, prints, handmade jewelry, and small sculptures, at this Downtown Pensacola artist co-op.
  • Quayside Art Gallery: You may find stained glass, woodworking, fine art paintings, and much more during a trip to the Emerald Coast’s largest art gallery, which is a co-op featuring a variety of artists who all specialize in something different.
  • Perdido Artist Gallery and Gifts: You’ll find each visit to this gallery, which opened in early 2019, is a little different, since it features more than 50 local artists and is always bringing in new talent.
  • Artworks: You can purchase handmade items in genres such as pottery, quilting, reclaimed wood, and glass resin here, and if you stop in at the right time you’ll have the chance to meet the talented local artists who made them, as they have a schedule of visits.
