Pensacola, Florida, is a great town for beach activities, but when you’re ready for a break from the sand and surf, why not hit the links at one of our premier golf courses? Enjoy the lush coastal beauty and blue skies while you play a round. Here are four great golf courses in Pensacola.

Established in 1926, Osceola Golf Course is one of Northwest Florida’s finest public courses. It has undergone major renovations in the last decade, including an updated pro shop and clubhouse and a mobile shade canopy for the driving range. The course is part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail, featuring a collection of public courses that celebrate Florida’s golf heritage since the 1890s.

Its original design was by celebrated 1920s golfer Bill Mehlhorn, who won 20 PGA tour events and worked as a golf pro at Osceola. You’ll experience old Florida style with small greens and narrow fairways in the original parts of the course. The renovation in 2011 added a state-of-the-art practice facility and new greens.

The clubhouse is available to rent for corporate events, weddings, or proms. The spacious and modern dining room of Fusion Grill is perfect for events or for a meal before or after a game. It’s open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The price for 18 holes plus a cart is $32.66, while nine holes plus a cart is $17.54. After 2 p.m. the price is discounted to $25.09. A ball basket of 48-50 for the driving range is $6.99.

Perdido Bay Golf Club

Perdido Bay Golf Club was nominated for “Best New Public Golf Course” by Golf Digest, and one round will show you why. It was the former site of the Pensacola Open for 10 years and features a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, greenside bunker, and fairway bunker for plenty of opportunities to practice your game. The club is one of the most complete places to practice in Pensacola. An interactive online tool helps you tour each hole so you can prepare in advance for a game.

Perdido Bay is a great place to host a corporate golf tournament or fundraiser. The professional staff is attuned to every detail, from planning to implementation. Legends Bar & Grill provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner with more than just a typical golf grill menu.

You can also book a night at the Cottages on the Green, with two queen rooms modeled like traditional hotel rooms, including minifridges, coffee makers, and microwaves. Two- and four-bedroom suites have full-size kitchens, dining areas, living rooms, washers/dryers, and porches or patios with grills. Guests have access to the pool from April to September.

Tee times are available for online booking up to 14 days in advance. Groups of four or more golfers can book tee times further out. Rates for 18 holes are $55 for locals from Baldwin, Escambia, and Santa Rosa counties and $90 for others, with a $15 discount if you play between 7:30 and 11 a.m. Playing nine holes after 11 a.m. is $40, and twilight golf (after 3 p.m.) is $37.

The dress code requires collared shirts for men, with no cutoff shorts or swimwear allowed.

The course is surrounded by Perdido Key’s natural beauty. Ongoing efforts to protect the natural resources of the area led to the course being certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It was the first golf course in Florida to earn such recognition.

In addition to the world-class golf course, the property features a new clubhouse with a full-service golf shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms with lounge areas, and a bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful views. Open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch seven days a week, the restaurant features beloved classics and daily specials on its menu. The club is available for corporate events, golf outings, and weddings.

Though open to the public, membership opportunities provide privileges such as preferred tee times, private lockers and showers, complimentary bag storage, and unlimited use of a members-only practice range.

The public rate for 18 holes is $95 in the morning and $80 in the evening and for nine holes is $80 in the morning and $65 in the evening. Members enjoy a rate of $20 per 18 holes and $10 per nine holes. Memberships start at $135 per month.
