What We Know About the Upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 7

August 11th, 2023 by

The radical shift from gas-powered vehicles to electric ones is well underway. It still seems to be far from its peak, however, and the next few years may completely change the way we think about cars and transportation in general.

Some automotive companies seem to adapt to this new reality better than others, and Hyundai is certainly a positive example of a car company that understands the need for change. The huge popularity of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models cemented the Asian manufacturer’s reputation in the electric vehicle (EV) market, but it seems that the best is yet to come. The Hyundai IONIQ 7 will be released in 2024 and promises to set new standards in comfort, technology, and the use of interior space.

What Type of Vehicle Will the Hyundai IONIQ 7 Be?

The 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 will be a three-row electric SUV that can seat up to seven or eight people, depending on the chosen configuration. It’s the final part of the South Korean automotive company’s plan to introduce three IONIQ full-EVs, with the first two currently enjoying success all over the world, including in the U.S. Although the information and images released so far aren’t definitive, they’re enough to get electric car enthusiasts excited, especially those in need of a large vehicle to carry their friends and families around.

Stylish and Futuristic Design

The Hyundai IONIQ 7 looks like nothing we’ve seen before. Although it may seem similar to other three-row SUVs currently on the market, a closer look reveals some unique exterior design elements. The most obvious one is the huge rear window, which complements the large side windows and sunroof to make the interior look bigger and let in as much natural light as possible. The doors are huge and have wide openings, which makes it easy to get in and out regardless of your size and seat.

On the inside, the style and design blend modern and classic elements, offering a lounge-style experience. The first two rows of seats move and rotate throughout the cabin, allowing passengers to create a unique space according to their preferences. The third row resembles a comfy couch, and this flexibility can lead to many fun activities with friends and family when the IONIQ 7 is stationary. Various storage spaces and cup holders are strategically placed throughout the cabin, adding some much-needed utility to the superbly designed interior.

Multiple Trims and Configurations

Although Hyundai hasn’t released any official information regarding the IONIQ 7’s trims, they’re likely to be similar to those of the 2023 IONIQ 5. The base SE trim will probably include many useful standard features, such as fast charging capability, a battery heating and preconditioning system, and seamless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SEL trim will add some features and upgrade others, while the top-of-the-line Limited trim will include everything that Hyundai has to offer in terms of looks, functionality, infotainment, and safety.

Cutting-Edge Technology

The 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 will feature multiple types of revolutionary tech, starting with the materials from which it’s built. Interior elements such as door trims and seats will likely be made with recycled materials like those in the IONIQ 6. Coupled with the 350 kWh fast-charging battery, this makes the IONIQ 7 an eco-friendly vehicle from multiple standpoints. Hyundai’s goal is to achieve a range that exceeds 300 miles, and new battery technology makes it likely that the IONIQ 7 will only need 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

The interior also includes various elements of modern technology, such as the Dual Color Ambient Lighting feature that allows you and your passengers to choose from up to 64 colors and six themes. This can give the cabin a fresh look every time you step inside. It will probably also feature Speed Sync Lighting, a feature already present in the IONIQ 6 that changes the interior lighting and overall atmosphere based on the vehicle’s speed.

Excellent Passive and Active Safety Features

With the Hyundai IONIQ 7 being primarily a family car, safety is a huge priority for both the manufacturer and its future buyers. Having a solid steel frame lowers its center of gravity, making it extremely stable for a vehicle this big. It’s also useful in case of a collision, as it absorbs most of the impact and helps maintain the cabin’s integrity. It’s also likely to include many driver aids, such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and a lane-keeping system.

The IONIQ 7 is also likely to be a Level 3 autonomous vehicle, allowing you to safely use it with minimum input. This technology allows you to take care of other things, like responding to emails and reading the news, while the vehicle drives itself. Although you still need to be able to take control in certain situations, this can help you make better use of the time you spend behind the wheel.

Join Florida’s Growing EV Community

Florida is expected to reach around 700,000 EVs by 2030 and is becoming one of the most EV-friendly states countrywide. With multiple investments in the state’s electric grid, owning an electric car won’t only be an eco-friendly solution but also less expensive and more convenient than owning a traditional gas-powered one. Pensacola is likely to be at the forefront of this radical shift toward EVs, with Mayor Grover Robinson implementing a city-wide policy to provide accessible charging stations throughout the community. Local community groups such as the Northwest Florida Electric Vehicle Association are also working to boost local EV popularity.
